Odell Barnett

Mrs. Odell Barnett, 87, of Chesapeake Virginia, made her heavenly transition on Monday, January 7, 2018 and will be missed and remembered by many. 

Odell was born in Isle of Wight County to the late Henry Young Sr. and Emma Young. She was the youngest of twenty three siblings.  In January 1964, Odell married Charlie Barnett and moved to Chesapeake, Virginia where she worked in housekeeping for many years.  Odell was a member of the New Willow Grove Baptist Church and served on the usher board. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Barnett and all of her siblings. Odell leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and supportive daughters Shirley White (James) of Chesapeake, VA and Ruth Corprew of Portsmouth, VA, a grandson, Barry Young (Denine), granddaughter Consuela Moodie  and  host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.            

A viewing for her will be held on Friday, January 11th from 5pm - 7pm at Fitchett Funeral Home and a celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, January 12th, 11:00 am at Willow Grove Baptist Church, 841 St. Brides Rd. W, Chesapeake.
