Magnolia Hicks was born on April 18, 1929 in Seminole County, Florida. She was a trailblazer and a servant leader. She worked for the Pennsylvania State Hospital where she retired as a nurse. Prior to moving to Virginia, she was a long time member of a church in Germantown (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and later became a faithful member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Philadelphia for 5 years, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Vernon L. Thompson. While there she became a member of the Missionary Circle.
Ms Hicks is predeceased in death by her father Ben James. She leaves to cherish her memories James and Jeanne Lucas (cousin); who was also her faithful caregiver; a God-daughter Adreanna and Darris Long of Harrisburg, NC; cousins Tynetta Edwards (also her faithful caregiver) and Naima James; her best friend Ernestine Rhyne and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
Her viewing will be on the day of her service, Thursday Feb. 6, 2020, 11:00 am at Fitchett Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Gardens.
