Edward B White Jr.

Edward B White Jr, transitioned from this life on April 20, 2021. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 3, 1950 to Edward B White Sr and Delores Harden White. He was raised in Chesapeake, Virginia and helped many neighbors, friends or family whenever he could. Ed had a sense of humor and made you laugh or cry. His life’s song was that he did it his way. Ed concealed that he was a brilliant man. His inside joke was that he lived incognito.

He graduated with honors from Crestwood High and attended Duke University where he met and married his ex-wife, Patricia W Epps. Ed completed his education at Norfolk State University, graduating summa cum laude as an industrial engineer. He served a tour of duty in the U S Air Force, and before his medical retirement worked at IBM and the Newport News Shipyard as an engineer. He spent the better part of his youth traveling from coast to coast, being a blessing to those in need, learning multiple trades, and using those gifts to help others.

He attended Burning Bush Worship Center, in Chesapeake, Virginia and loved singing in the Men’s choir. More recently he attended Bethany Baptist Church with fervor. He maintained a strong belief in God with unwavering faith. 

Edward Bernard White, Jr. now joins his parents and brother, Alan C. White that preceded him in death. Left to treasure his memories are his siblings: Edwina Langaster, Darius White (Rhonda), Donna Burden (Earnest), Daphne Nickens, Emerson White (Lynette) and September Johnson (Reginald), an uncle, Frederick White, special friends, Timothy Williams, Chris and Brett Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Edward B. White will be held on Friday, May 7th at 11:00 am at Fitchett Funeral Home, 1821 Liberty Street Chesapeake, Virginia.

Because of Covid and our desire to keep everyone safe we must limit attendance to 50 people. Masks are required. Please check with the family as to your attendance.
