On February 25, 1973, DerrickTodd Lashawed Davis made his guest appearance into the world. On March 4, 2021, he made his final bow and entered into the heavenly world, beyond the horizon. Todd, as he was affectionately called, was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia.
Todd’s primary goals in life were to make people happy and laugh. Even as a child, Todd seemed born to entertain. As an adult, the gentle giant was nicknamed “Big Grizzly.” At 6’4” and 360 pounds, he was never the smallest man in the room. Aside from food and a good party, Todd loved to fish and enjoyed watching his beloved Pittsburg Steelers. He received his education in the Norfolk Public School System; attending Young’s Park Elementary, Truitt Junior High, and Oscar F. Smith High Schools.
He is preceded in eternity by his son, Derrick Todd Horton; Father, Henry H. Davis, grandmother, Jessie Owens; grandfather, Thomas Owens; and uncle, Dwayne Owens.
Todd leaves to cherish his precious memories: his mother, Barbara A. Davis; sister, Stephanie Minor; brothers, Tilton Davis, Timothy Bizzell, and Steve Peacock; and his beloved children, Cameron A. Davis (mother, Jennie Grisworld), Dafna Davis (mother, Dafne Ulysse), and Christopher Davis (mother, Chrissy Jones); his wife, Sharon Davis; a special friend and mother of his son, Derrick Todd Horton, Anessa Horton (Ricky); and a host of nieces and nephews.
