Cynthia C. Brown

Cynthia Cenetta Brown aka “Cindy” passed in peace on Saturday, March 20th , 2021 at the age of 57. She was born April 2, 1963 in Plymouth, North Carolina.

She made Virginia her home in 1963 when her parents moved here and she was a Norfolk resident for many years. She is preceded in death on November 16, 2020 by the love her life of 15 years, Nathaniel Woodard and her father Elmer Chesson Jr who passed in peace on March 5th 2021.

Cynthia became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church on September 12, 2010. She was baptized there and loved to attend and participate in worship.  She was a graduate of Indian River High School. It was during high school that she developed and mastered her love of sewing. She cherished her first sewing machine and made many of her own stylish, creative clothing. She adopted her work ethic from her father and was a dedicated employee at Days Inn, Norfolk, VA. Cindy loved the simple things in life. She will always be remembered for her feisty spirit, radiant smile and compassionate heart. She will be forever missed by a host of family members and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara A. Chesson, Chesapeake, VA. She leaves to cherish her memory four sisters: Samantha C. Lee, Angelina C. McMurray and Tamika M. Harris, all of Chesapeake, VA, Tawanna T. Davis, Portsmouth, Va and one brother, Derek A. Davis, wife Angel, Virginia Beach, VA. .
