Addie Burke Perry was born on May 19, 1920 to the late Branent and Hattie C. Burke in Cofield, North Carolina. Addie was the only girl born from this union of 6 children.
In her earlier years she married Jack Manley and from this union 2 children was born, Marilyn Rakes (George) and Leroy Manley (Joyce). Some years after the death of Jack, Addie married Silas Perry and Kenneth Perry was born.
Years later Addie and Silas moved to Norfolk, VA in the Broad Creek area where they later purchased a home. Addie worked at the Naval Air Station during the WWII era. After working some odd jobs she landed a position as a State Employee for Norfolk State University as a baker in their main cafeteria. Addie was a great cook. She enjoyed cooking and watching everybody eating her food. She really could stir up some delicious meals. The best rolls and buns in the world.
Addie also loved God. She worked around her home singing and humming hymns and praising The Lord. She loved picking pecans and working in her yard. She was a very skilled gardener. You could sometimes hear her humming All The World To Me as she went her gardening and doing the things that she loved doing.
Addie is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Fitchett Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at 10am and funeral services will start at 11 am. Burial immediately following at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
