Edward Harris Jackson

Edward Harris Jackson, “Big Redd”, 56 peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2016 after a long battle with Emphysema and COPD. Edward was born on December 17, 1959 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Adams and Hazel Jackson.

Edward grew up in the Cavalier Manor section of Portsmouth and was well known by many as “EH”. He was a friendly, talkative, loving and generous man with a humongous heart. He will truly be missed but never forgotten.

Edward is survived by his four children – Mechelle, Cassandra “Sandy”, Christopher and their mother Deborah McNeil of Portsmouth; Da’Shawn and his mother Marlisa Thomas of Xenia, Ohio; one sister: Lisa Artist (Randolph); Three Nieces: Nicole (Dontario), Tiffany (Jamie), Iesha Stevens; One Nephew: Antonio Stevens; Five Grandchildren: Saniaya, Saleeyah, Amir & Aiden of Portsmouth and Alicia of Pikeville, North Carolina. He also leaves to cherish his memory three adopted children: Nina Gibbs of Pikeville, North Carolina, Meika Watson of Trenton, New Jersey, and Damario Harris of Mount Olive, North Carolina; and his spiritual “father” Lonnie Raynor of Portsmouth, and a host of cousins, loved ones and friends.

The immediate family of Mr. Jackson will have a private viewing at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 12 at 2 pm at Holy Temple Ministries, 309 High Street, Portsmouth, Virginia 23704.
