Vernal B Boothe Jr.

On Thursday, June 4, 2020,  Vernal B. Boothe Jr. gained his wings to be with the Lord. He was born September 17, 1975 to Ms. Yvonne E. Boothe in the state of New York. At 2 yrs. of age, he moved to Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Norview  Elementary and then Azalea Garden Middle School, where he was named Student of the Year and Most Likely to Succeed. At a young age, he was always  business minded. He graduated from Maury High School in 1994. He played defensive end and line backer during his entire high school years. He was very well known and very well liked by many. He attended Norfolk State University, majoring in business administration.

One of his early jobs was as manager at Eye Candy Clothing Store, Military Circle. He also worked at Bank of America but his happy place was working in the family business cooking along with his mother and Aunt Niecey.

He was preceded in death by his mom Yvonne Boothe, his aunts Shirley Potts Strong and Carolyn Potts Williams; his uncles Charles B.T. Potts Jr., Rex Potts and Malcolm Potts.

He leaves to cherish his memories 2 lovely daughters DeJhane M. Futrell Boothe, Armani Futrell; brother Michael Boothe; Aunt Sharon Stanford (Frank); Aunt Joan Tillman; cousins Lakisha Bryant, Javonne Washington, Sharissa Stanford, Skylar Stanford and 4 special friends Danyall Walton, Montrelle Whitaker, June Sanders (Roc) and Joyce Ashlock (McArthur).

Public drive thru viewing at the funeral home on Friday, June 12th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

Private Funeral services but services will be live streamed on our facebook page on Saturday, June 13th at 12 noon. Fitchett Funeral Home, 1821 Liberty Street.
