TANYA EVONNE HOPKINS was born on April 23, 1964, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Chief Apostle Howard L. Gales Sr. and Madame Doris Gales. She was the Eldest of four children. She was caught up from this life to glory from labor to reward on December 12, 2020 at her home early in the morning.
Tanya graduated from Floyd E. Kellam High School in 1982. She attended Commonwealth of Virginia College receiving a certificate of Computer Information Processing in 1985. She worked at the City of Norfolk Mental Health for several years. She continued her education and pursued studies at Paul D. Camp Community College in the Criminal Justice Program.
Tanya received the Lord as her Savior at age 9. At that time, she was gifted and anointed to sing. Tanya was devoted as a member of Good Shepherd International Miracle Center. She was the President and Director of the Young Adult Mass Choir, and a member of the Elders and Missionary Board. She would not allow anything to hold her back from loving people and serving God. She loved her family, loved laughter, and having fun. She was effective in every community she would live. With pleasure she would cook in her kitchen and feed drug addicts and those who had fell on hard times. She was known in her neighborhood, as “Mom” and she would call the community children her sons and daughters.
Tanya leaves to cherish and honor her memories Tim Hopkins (husband), mother and father Chief Apostle Howard L. Gales Sr. and Madame Doris Gales, five children, Vanessa White of Va.
