On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 11:15am Joe Louis Wyche, Sr. transitioned from his final resting place at Commonwealth Senior Living at Chesterfield, VA.
Joe was born in Capron, Virginia to the late Aaron and Ethel Wyche. Joe was educated in the public school system of Southampton, Virginia. In the late 1950’s Joe moved to Norfolk, Virginia and later enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country well and received an Honorable Discharge. After leaving the army he returned to Norfolk. Once home Joe continued to be of service to the United States Postal Service, after 36 years of service he retired in 2013. Joe was a loyal member at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church; where he served on the Male Usher Board, Men’s Choir, Sunday School, and the Deacon’s Ministries.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Gloria Hill Wyche and his sister Virginia Demmons Left to cherish his memory are his two sons Joe Wyche Jr. (Donica) and Shawn Wyche (Crystal). Eight grandchildren Xavier, Kendall (Kayla), Rashon, Jonae, Carlique, Brianna, Heaven, Kingston and 7 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn an aunt Lena Clark, two sister-in-laws Oretha Stone and Celestine Hill, a special niece and nephews Iristeen Couther, Robert Seabron Jr. and Anthony Seabron and a host of family and friends.
Viewing Tuesday 2pm- 5pm. Graveside service Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 12 pm.
Attendees are requested to wear masks.
