Doris L. Pope

Doris L. Pope passed away quietly on January 9, 2020 with family by her side. She was born on December 17, 1937 in Norfolk, VA to the late Floyd and Ruth Pope.  She was the eldest of 7 children. She was an employee of McDonalds on the Navy Base in Norfolk for over 30 years. 

She is predeceased by both parents, predeceased by brothers, Leslie, George, Glenn and James Pope, sister Audrey Pope and son Curtis Edmonds.
She attended Norfolk Public Schools and attended Tidewater Community College taking various business courses.  

She is survived by her children: Joanne Skinner (Daniel), Jerome Edmonds (Tammy), Audrey Edmonds, Tanya Edmonds and Keith Edmonds.
Grandchildren: Quintina Armstrong (Lewis), Quebenic Edmonds, Xavier Edmonds, Tamonique Edmonds, Jeronda Edmonds and Mya Edmonds Darisaw. Great Grandchildren: Lewis Armstrong IV, Nina Armstrong, Ma-Layah and Ja-Nylah Edmonds, Zy-Mir White and Zavian Edmonds.
Also surviving is one sister Vernell Tucker.

Celebration of Life services for her will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at 12 noon in the chapel of Fitchett Funeral Home, 1821 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, VA. Public viewing will be on the day of service after funeral. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Norfolk, VA.
