Lord, have mercy on me. Make me well again! Psalms 41:10
God has reached down, July 25th 2021, to comfort one of the most deserving women of God's grace, Cheryl Ann Crayle “MeMe”. The strength and kindness of this beautiful woman shined bright, touching all who had the blessing of being around her.
Cheryl was born on September 16, 1961, to her late parents Charles “Mike” and Karren Chaney. She cherished her relationships with her step mother Sis and adored her Aunt Sandy. Her best friend, brother, & true companion, Chris Steiner “POPs'' was her partner in crime. The three filled her heart with memories long forgotten. Loss of her past was only one of the side effects of her 20 year struggle after a neurological stroke. They never stopped loving her as she could never stop spreading love in her own charismatic way. She lived her life for her family, close friends, and all of her students. Cheryl's "kids'' as she would refer to them, we're always truly infinite, with such pride and gratitude. She created amazing relationships from driving generations of families in her 33 years of employment with the Virginia Beach City Public School System. Honored by the school board and most importantly, the parents of her beloved students,
Cheryl lived for her 3 children, Samantha 37, Jessica Ann 33 and Frankie 32. Then came grandbabies. They were the wind beneath her wings. Shyann Marie 12, Little Frankie 11, Wesley Gage 9, Knox Alexander 5 and Wyatt Oliver “WyWy” 1. The beautiful angel of our family known as Meme, will be deeply missed every second of every day. She was the piece that held us all together. Compelling feelings of emptiness are hard to bear, yet we try to find comfort in knowing her pain has been lifted and her smile will be forever shining down on us, lifting our spirits, giving us the strength she so well instilled in us.
The only everlasting emotion is love of a mother, meme and amazing bus driver.
