Barbara Jean Bishop was born to the late Cora Barrington Roberts and George Roberts in the City of Norfolk, Virginia on September 11, 1941. She was reared in the City of Norfolk. She was predeceased by her daughter Kim Craig, her sister Elouise Clary and her brother Wilbert Lee (“Boots”) Roberts.
Barbara Bishop attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She retired from Carolina Yacht Club, Ladson, SC in 1991. She was a Methodist. She lived many years in South Carolina returning to Norfolk in 2014. Barbara enjoyed life and was always smiling and always happy. She was a shinning star in the life of her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories, and hold them dear to their hearts, her loving son and daughter Rodney Roberts and Terri Craig and grandson Rodney Roberts, Jr., her brother, Orlanderous (“Bobby”) Roberts and two great granddaughters. She also leaves a special nephew Allan Joynes who provided loving care during her life as well as her late stages of her life. In addition, Barbara Roberts, her life-time sister-in-law, and Barbara Bishop were childhood friends from age 6. Barbara Roberts has provided loving special care to Barbara Bishop throughout the entirety of her life. She also leaves a total of two nephews, six nieces, one great niece and nephew.
