On Sunday shortly after midnight, Wendell Williams completed his earthly life.
Wendell Williams, affectionately know as Disco, was born on June 14, 1961, to Eugene Barron and the late Ada Williams in Norfolk, VA. He was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Lake Taylor High School.
Wendell worked as a construction and warehouse worker for over 20 years. "Disco" spent his spare time as a DJ for over 30 years, spinning records and playing music at almost all family and friends events. He also DJ'd at the Berkley Elks Lodge. He was once a member of the Berkley Elks Lodge #12.
Wherever Wendell went, he was the life of the party, the constant entertainer. Wendell loved spending time with his little buddy "Fat Fat", and enjoyed a close relationship with his niece Tierra Williams.
Wendell leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Eugene Barron of Norfolk, VA; one sister, Avis Harrell (Robert) of Ahoskie, NC; four brothers, Terry Hunter (Angie) of VA Beach, VA, Troy Williams of Norfolk, VA, Tommy Williams (Carolyn) of Chesapeake, VA and Stevon Williams of Charlotte, NC; a close friend for over 20 years, Delphine Morlsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special thanks also to Bon Secours Hospice Staff.
A viewing will be held at Fitchett Funeral Home/Liberty Street on Friday from 4pm - 6pm. Please join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday, March 10 at Fitchett Funeral Home/Liberty Street at 11:00 am.
