Vera Annette Blunt Jacks, age 74, passed away in Chesapeake, Virginia, on Thursday, September 5, 2019 of natural causes. She was the daughter of the late Vernon T. Blunt and Naomi Parker Blunt of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Born on November 20, 1944 in Norfolk County, Virginia, Vera lived in Chesapeake, Virginia, before settling in Virginia Beach. Vera is a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and Norfolk State University with a B.S. in History. She initially worked for the Chicago Sun-Times and as a history teacher for Chesapeake Public Schools.
She later received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate in 1972 and worked as a recognized nursing professional for nearly 40 years for several local health care facilities such as Sentara Norfolk General and Leigh Memorial. She was also an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints along with her son Jason Jacks (Deceased).
Survivors include her son, Robert A. Jacks, his wife SaChe' Jacks, grandson Travis and Family; her sisters Brenda (Husband James), Irma, Barbara, Celia; brother Vernon and a host of loving Family and Friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2019, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, 1821 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, Virginia
