Sandra Perry

Sandra Marie Perry 67, passed on to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Sandra was born August 17, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James and Flossie Perry of Chesapeake. Sandra was raised in the Crestwood Manor area.

Sandra graduated from Crestwood High School where she was a proud member of the Class of 68'. She continued her education by attending Key Business College. The skills she obtained from Key helped her to begin a career in Customer Service with Sears Roebuck & Co. She was employed with the company for over 15 years. Upon leaving Sears, she then joined TCI/Cox Communications. There she worked as customer service analyst and credit collections. Sandra was employed with Cox until her retirement in 2009. Shortly after that, she went to work at Wal-Mart in Janaf, where she worked as a cashier and then in the deli department from 2010-2015.

Sandra gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church Crestwood. At First Baptist Crestwood she was a member of the Adult Choir and served as a church Trustee. Later she became a member of First Baptist Church South Hill where she enjoyed the pastor's weekly sermons and teachings. She also enjoyed line dance class and worked with the church Food Pantry. During her spare time Sandra worked as an UBER driver which allowed her to meet and minister to the people she would meet.

Sandra was preceded in death by an older sister Darrill Perry. Sandra is survived by a daughter, Saundra "Niese" Perry of Charlotte, NC., a sister Linda Goodman of Chesapeake;  3 brothers James Perry, Jr. and Gerald Perry (Sharon) both of Chesapeake and Gregory Perry of San Jose, Calif. She is also survived by a grandson Braylen Dilligard of Charlotte, NC. Other close family members are a sister-in-law Alexis Perry of Elizabeth City, NC, nieces and nephews, Brian Perry, Lynise Perry-Brown, Dana Perry, Ashley Perry-Young, Josiah Knight and her great nephews and nieces she was always so proud of Dyamond, Jaylyn, Dakarai, Aiyana, Kheyinde, and Addae.

Her viewing will be on Tuesday, January 30th from 4pm- 7pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, 1821 Liberty Street.

Her homegoing services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018, 11:00 am at First Baptist Church South Hill located at 3633 Galberry Rd. Chesapeake, Va. 23323. Flowers can be sent to Fitchett Funeral Home located at 1821 Liberty Street Chesapeake, Va. 23324.
