Joe B. Carmack was born on June 26, 1932 in Martin County, North Carolina to Flossie Bryant Carmack-Holly and Rev. Grady C. Carmack.
On Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Chesapeake Regional Hospital, he was called home to be with the Lord. Joe worked making awnings for many years until he later decided to work as a Companion at Senior Services of South Eastern Virginia.
He was a caring husband, son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He attended First Baptist Church Crestwood for many years where he served as an usher. Some of Joe's hobbies included spending time with his wife Rosa Carmack, and also spending time with his family and his friends; he enjoyed shooting pool, listening to his records and going fishing.
Joe was predeceased by his mother Flossie Carmack-Holley, father Rev. Grady Carmack, wife Rosa Carmack, his sisters Arkay Price, Vera Carmack and Lillie Tillery, his brother William Carmack, son Julius Ford Sr. (Baboo) and son Victor I. Carmack.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his two sisters Lucille Mitchell and Dorothy Whitaker, also his brother Brandy Carmack, his daughters Joezette Powell (Herman), Laura Carmack, Yvonne Spruill and son Glenwood Carmack, His grandchildren Yulanda Carmack, Marlowe Carmack, Grady Carmack, Shannon Carmack, Shannon Carmack, Joe Carmack, William Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, Ciara Taylor, Patricia Riddick, Julius Ford Jr. (Gloria), Tracey Ford, Kenneth Ford (Butch), Debra Purvis (George), Angela Ford (Arlo) Roper, Glenda Carmack, Kimberly Carmack, Teresa Cowell, Glenwood Carmack and Corey Carmack; with a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation for Joe Carmack will beheld on Wednesday, February 14th, 3pm - 7pm at Fitchett Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church Crestwood on Thursday, February 15th at 11am. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
