Grant L Woodard

On January 7, 1946, a bright light entered into the lives of Samuel Woodard Sr. and Blanche Lee Woodard. That light, they named Grant Lee Woodard. On June 14, 2018, that light was dimmed as Grant Lee Woodard took flight into bliss.

During his life, he developed and exhibited many talents and abilities: wood crafting, automotive repairs, roofing and plumbing. He was an avid fisherman, crabber and gardener who also thoroughly enjoyed cars and he loved the RAMS. Above all, he was a loving and caring husband to his wife Doris. To that union two sons were born, Terrence and Kevin. Overall, he was a loving, caring and simply a good hearted friend to all.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sons: Terrence Woodard, Kevin Woodard (Angel), Jayvon Woodard; one sister Barbara Thurgood; six brothers Samuel Woodard, Melvin Thurgood, Oliver Couther, Ollie Couther, Calvin Couther (Adrienne), Donald Couther (Tina); nine grandchildren, his "baby mama" Theresa Cuffee, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

His homegoing celebration will be at Bethany Baptist Church, Chesapeake on Wednesday at 11 am.
