Dennis Lee Harris

Dennis Lee Harris, age 58, passed away on May 31st, 2019 at Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born July 16th, 1960 in Norfolk, Virginia to Ray and Catherine Harris. Dennis grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. He graduated from Norview High before going on to major in building and construction at Norfolk State University. He worked a few years for The City of Chesapeake before retiring twenty-six years with The City of Norfolk. 

He was known to be a very bubbly, energetic, big kid. He enjoyed teaching and mentoring the children at Faith Deliverance Christian Center, playing video games with his work colleagues, and going out to the tennis court to hit balls with his friends. 

Dennis was predeceased by his father Ray Harris and his brother Ray B. Harris. He is survived by his mother Catherine S. Harris, daughter Faith I. Taylor, brothers Phillip C. Harris, Bobby T. Harris, sisters Catherine D. Humphery, Christine M. Harris, granddaughter Zaniyah A. Nelson, and many Nieces and Nephews. 

Join us for his viewing on Tuesday at Fitchett Funeral Home from 4 - 6pm and for his life celebration on Wednesday at 12 noon in the chapel of Fitchett Funeral Home.
