Daveeda Irene Stovall-Phillips

February 11, 1941 ~ February 28, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Daveeda Irene Stovall was born to Reverend David Samuel Stovall Sr. and Hatti Serena Stovall, February 11, 1941 in Portsmouth, Virginia.

As a preacher’s daughter, Daveeda received Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was extremely proud of her father and loved her family dearly. The oldest of five siblings, she was often referred to as “Sista”. Sista loved to sing. She attended Norcom High School in Portsmouth, VA where she joined the school choir as an Alto under the leadership of Mr. Lewis, the school’s Choir Director.

Daveeda married U.S. Navy Serviceman John W. Moore in Portsmouth, VA. To this union two daughter were born, Valerie and Simone. As with most military families, Daveeda was able to experience living in various states until finally relocating to Hayward, California.

For more than fifteen years, she held various positions with Bank of America in Hayward, CA. She was deservingly promoted and later transferred to San Francisco, CA as the Branch Manager. In her spare time, Daveeda enjoyed giving facials and skincare treatments. With specific goals in mind, she obtained her Esthetician License and became a successful entrepreneur. She began her Skincare Consultation business and created the Jal-Meese skincare line. She loved spending time with her friends and clients, who affectionately referred to her as “Dee”.

Dee was a member of Palma Ceia Baptist Church, Hayward, CA under the leadership of the Pastor Charles F. Bennett where she attended until her health began to fail.

God, in His sovereignty called Daveeda home February 28, 2017; she was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Stovall & brother Samuel Dwight Stovall. She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy her daughters, Valerie Moore-Rountree (Peter-deceased) of Winchester, VA, & Simone Moore of Manteca, CA; grandchildren, Dominic Lewis of Manteca, CA & Shantell Moore of Stockton, CA; great-grandson Dominic Lewis II; siblings David Stovall (Joanie) of Bronx, NY, Mary Serena Stovall & Ethel Stovall both of Chesapeake, VA; nephews & nieces David Stovall III, Danielle Stovall, Nathaniel Robinson III (Betty), Eva Harris (Willie), Charles Robinson (Nacine), Chanelle Robinson, Melvin Stovall, Geneva Bias, Samuel Stovall Jr., Derick Stovall (Rhonda) & a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins & friends.

Ms. Stovall-Phillips will lie in state on Saturday, March 4 from 10 am to 1 pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.

Homegoing Service will be Saturday, March 4 at 1 pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.
