Albert P. Joyce

Albert P. Joyce passed away on November 26, 2016 at 1:55 a.m. in Chesapeake General Hospital. He was born on July 16, 1939 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Geraldine Phiffer Joyce and Otis Joyce.  

AJ (aka Dab) worked at the Coca Cola Plant in Norfolk, Virginia. From there, he went to Stewart's Sandwiches and worked there for 5 years as a technician. Albert met the love of his life Evelyn E. Stackhouse and they were married in 1963.

AJ is survived by his wife Evelyn Joyce and his five children, Laura Stackhouse, Talya Barrett, George Hawkins, Marcellous Joyce and Eric Joyce; 10 grands, 11 great-grands and 4 great-great grands; 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 brother-in-laws, 5 sister-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded home by his mother, his father, and a brother.

Mr. Joyce will lie in state Thursday, December 1 from 11am-1pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.

A Wake Service will be Thursday, December 1 at 1pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.

Interment will be at Stackhouse Family Cemetery in Fairmont, North Carolina.
