Adella Davis

Rev. Dr. Adella Coston Davis, 75, departed this life on Thursday, January 18, 2018 after a short illness where she is now Victorious over the sting of death.

Dr. Adella Coston Davis was born December 17, 1942 in Havana, FL to the late Mr. Clayton Coston and the late Julia Ann Coston- Hill.  Dr. Davis was educated in Florida public schools where she graduated from Campbell High School class of 1961.  Dr. Adella  Davis continued to further her education as she matriculated at Daytona State College and transferred to Bethune Cookman Univeristy where she obtained her B.S.N. Degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), specializing in the study of  Orthopedics. While there she received a Who's Who Award among students in Americas' Universities and Colleges.  She graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). She went on to receive her  M. Div. Degree (Master of Divinity) at Regent University. During her studies while there in 1996, she also received a Who's Who Award among students in America's Universities and Colleges and graduated in 1997.  

Adella was a faithful member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Institutional Church in Daytona Beach, FL which set the course for the rest of her life.  This is where she accepted the call to preach the gospel and the rest is history. She worked at Halifax Hospital 30 plus years until her retirement. While on assignment in Virginia, she met and married her mate for life, Rev. Clifton Sidney Davis Sr.  In 1997, while married to Clifton, she received her M. Div. Degree (Master of Divinity) at Regent University. Together they started Living Waters True Unity in Norfolk, VA which later moved to Portsmouth, VA.  They later joined forces with Abundant Life Ministries and other ministries who were building up the kingdom of God. Under the unction of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Davis was then led to Norfolk Theological Seminary where she obtained her D.D. Degree (Doctor of Divinity) in the year 2010. 

Rev. Dr. Adella Coston Davis is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Rev. Clifton Sidney Davis Sr.  her devoted children James Bryant,(FL) Robert Earl,(FL) Lawrence F.(District of Columbia) Daphne Gail Martin (FL) Clifton S. Davis Jr.,(NC) and Nicole Davis,( MD) ,cherished by her 12 grandchildren Tedra, LaToya, Rashad, Semaj, Demonte, Calvin, Catlin, Lawrence 4th, Ebony, Alona, Julia and Matthew cherished by 9 great grandchildren.  She will never be forgotten by her siblings James Oliver, (FL) Roy Rogers, (NV) Linda Maria, (FL)  Johnny Lee, (FL) Susie Lillian (FL) and Apostle Julia Ann Wiggins.(OH) and Cherished by her Uncle Clinton Burns (FL).

Rev. Dr. Adella Coston Davis will also be missed by a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; her life time friends Idella Gillis and Inez Stafford, the Bethune-Cookman University family (ZETA Phi Beta Sorority) her Regent University family, Ms. Renee Vaughan and her spiritual father and mother Pastor and Lady Jones of Sanford , FL.

Funeral services for her will be held on Friday, 11:00 am at New Genesis Baptist Church located 3229 McDonald Rd. Va. Beach, Va. A viewing and visitation will be held at The Original Fitchett Funeral Home, 1821 Liberty St. on Thursday, January 25th from 5pm - 7pm
