John Alfred Riddick Jr.

John Alfred Riddick Jr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 12, 2016. John was born on September 18, 1957 in Chesapeake, Virginia to the late John Alfred and Lethia Alberta Riddick. He was the second of their six children.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Olive Grove Baptist Church. He loved singing with the Male Chorus and was a member of the Fully Committed Outreach Ministry. He was a dedicated member until his health began to fail.

John was a devoted husband, loving father, a kind and giving brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be truly missed but never forgotten!

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his loving wife, Donna; five children: John Riddick III (Raven) of Chesapeake, Chad Williams - US Navy, Tonya Baxter (Adam) of Chesapeake, Keosha Williams of Chesapeake, and Brittany Williams - US Navy; two brothers: Anthony Riddick of Chesapeake and Michael Riddick (Renae) of Norfolk; five sisters: Mamie Reid and Sheila Riddick of Chesapeake, Arcelia Riddickof Whaleyville, VA, Willie Mae Butts of Portsmouth, and Priscilla Portlock of Maryland; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Riddick will lie in state Thursday, February 18 from 12 pm to 7 pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.

Homegoing Services will be held Friday, February 19 at 10 am at Olive Grove Baptist Church - 1034 Albert Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23513.
