John Wayne Jones

John Wayne Jones, born in Ahoskie, North Carolina on April 14, 1942 and resided on the 2300 block of Bugle Drive in Chesapeake at the time of his death on April 1, 2017.

John was a loving husband who cherished his family and friends. He was a wonderful father to his children and a “father-like” figure to many. He loved his grandchildren and made it a point to let them know he cherished them and how proud of them he was. John touched the lives of all who came in contact with him. 

He was survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Jones; his 6 children, Sandra E. Clifton, Regina L. Keeling, Kimberly J. Givens, Mandi T. Swayze, Melissa L. Lloyd, and David Jones; 6 grandchildren, Cory Kappes, John Kappes, Stacy Clark, Ashley Givens, Alesha Givens, and Isaiah White; 8 great grandchildren, Matthew Swayze, Alayna Swayze, Tianna Ashley, Landon Lloyd, Baby Lloyd, Adora McClenney, Destiny McClenney, and Joshua Manderson; his sister, Catherine Getz; and his 2 brothers, Michael Jones and Fred Jones.

Services for John will be held at 2360 Bugle Drive E in Chesapeake, Virginia 23321 on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2 pm.
