Eleanor Dianne Jones

Eleanor Dianne Jones, was born on August 14, 1955 to Robert Jones and Mary Chandler in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. On June 4, 2017, Eleanor completed her duties on Earth and entered into eternal rest.

Because of her deep love for people and desiring to help others, Eleanor became a nurse’s aide. She loved her job and would continue in this career for the majority of her life.

In her spare time, she loved to watch horror movies and listen to music. Eleanor was such a loving, joyful spirit who loved life. There is nothing that she wouldn’t do for anyone. Even as her health began to decline, she would always be willing to make someone else smile or laugh despite her pain. She was definitely the life of the party and you could always guarantee that she would be somewhere joking around or throwing around her favorite saying, “I swear before potato salad!”

Eleanor and her sweet, resilient personality will be greatly missed by her family, friends, loved ones, and everyone that she came in contact with. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Regina Byrd and Melvin Chandler.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Antwon Jones and his fiancé Tamara Washington; two grandchildren, Anthony and Antwon Goodman; four brothers, Robert Chandler, Larry Jones, Anthony Jones, and Gregory Jones; one sister, Edna Forrest; two nephews, Ronald and Clifton Byrd; two nieces, Danielle Tyler and Latonia Jones, and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 17 at 3 pm at Fitchett Funeral Home, Liberty Street.
